This back brace is quite an interesting garment, with details that I have not seen before.
It appears that this back brace was not designed to be worn with stockings, or at perhaps worn in addition to a suspender belt. There are zero suspender straps and no evidence of straps that have been cut off. I would say that this was designed for a lady with back issues, due to the thick and wide boning sewn into the back of the garment.
Interestingly, the side lace section has a modestly panel behind it, much like a 'standard' corset.
Where the heavy boning is located, there is some very soft, velvet-like fabric sewn to the inside to provide comfort to the wearer.
The hook and eye fasteners are heavy duty, and extremely unlikely to break!
There are two elasticated panels to allow for ease of movement and comfort.
Very interesting find!
