Some of you may be aware that I have just released my first line of suspender belts. Although it’s a very small line (three versions of the same design), I’m very excited and feel so lucky to have this opportunity as it’s something that I have wanted to do for a while.
The reason I started with suspender belts is because I love lots of straps… as in many many straps! I have written many times about the benefits of wearing a suspender belt with more than six straps, and I believe it makes a huge difference to the wearer’s comfort.
I chose to only start with one colour for the first lot; white. Although many people have asked me if I will be bringing my suspender belts out in black, I really wanted to start with a colour that I have grown to adore over the last few years.
I managed to find a manufacturer who was prepared to make my design for me, which is honestly not easy. Not only did I need to find a company that could produce the exact design I wanted, I also needed to ensure that the quality was top notch. These suspender belts are designed to be worn for hours on end and not just for the bedroom, I therefore needed to ensure that they wouldn’t fall apart! As such, I went to a company in the UK who I already knew produced great quality garments.
The hardest part about the entire process was finding the right lace for the front panel of the belt. Although some may think that lace is lace and tht it shouldn’t cause a problem, it actually did. I have felt and worn many different garments made of lace and some are downright horrible! Some lace is scratchy, or ugly and I wanted something very soft and feminine, it also needed to have two way stretch…. and damn that stuff is hard to find!!
The requirements for y suspender belts which were non-negotiable were:
- Wide straps
- Metal clips
- Soft lace panel
- Deep belt (for a little bit of extra tummy support)
- Panel with rows of three or more hook and eye clasps
- 10, 12 and 14 strap versions
So here are my very first suspender belts, available in my online boutique – www.thenylonswish-boutique.com! Please check them out, and if you like them, please feel free to buy one! I hope you like them.
