One of the most frequently asked questions that I receive is 'how do you go to the bathroom in THAT?'
If the prospect of not being able to go to the loo because of your underwear is preventing you from buying or wearing suspender belts, panty girdles or open bottom girdles then STOP and read on...
As you may know by now, I try to encourage women to wear suspender belts with many many straps on them, however the first thing that is mentioned when I publish a post on this topic is the bathroom question. The truth is that whether you're wearing a belt with 4 or 14 straps on, there is no difference when it comes to going to the loo because the straps don't need to affect anything.
Option 1 - If your suspender belt is stretchy, pull it down over your hips, just like you would with a pair of knickers. Once you need to pull them back up, all you need to do is readjust your stockings to make sure they are in the correct place.
Option 2 - Most suspender belts actually fasten at the back just like a bra, so all you need to do is undo the clasps and you're then free to do what you need to do.
Option 3 - Just pull your knickers to the side (well out the way or it will get messy). Yeah I know but that is the lazy way to go about it!
Option 4 - If you really must insist on undoing the back straps, which you shouldn't need to do, then practise is the key. I will try to do a little tutorial on how to do up suspender straps, very soon.
Panty girdles come in two styles, either with no legs or with legs.
The girdles with no legs, as seen below, usually have claps in between the legs which can be undone when required. Alternatively you can pull them down like a standard pair of knickers.
The long leg girdles often have openings in the crotch, ignore them. I suggest just undoing them and pulling them down like knickers. It will take you a minute longer than standard knickers but it's not that big a deal.
Open bottom girdles
If you are wearing a stretchy girdle, I would suggest simply pulling it down like a pair of pants, they are really easy. Again, you just need to make sure your stockings are sitting right once you have pulled them up.
If you are wearing a non-stretch girdle or something like a corselette, you are going to have to learn to do up and undo the back straps. I would suggest trying this a few times at home when you get your first girdle, it won't take very long to master. If you're wearing a four strap girdle, you will only need to undo the two back straps, if you are wearing a six strap girdle, I would advise undoing the two back and the two side straps. The side straps are easy as you can see them, the back ones, as I previously mentioned just require a little patience.
So, please do not hold back from wearing glamorous retro inspired undergarments, you won't be trapped in them forever!
